Apex Legends Caustic Is Getting Nerfed (Season 12) : Why?

The Gas God is getting nerfed.

I believe this is one of the most saddening updates for the season 12. The  favorite legends of toxic and aggressive Apex legends players is getting nerfed for various reasons mainly giving opponents a fighting chance when being over powered by caustic and his teammates. In this post we are going to cover the reasons for the nerf and what the nerf entails.

Why Is Caustic Getting Nerfed ?

As everyone's toxic trapper, Larson a developer at Respawn Entertainment noted Caustic's tactical talent is quite beneficial. Its durability makes it handy in a number of scenarios, despite its original intent of being a trap. "We've seen a vast amount of use cases for a single trap as the game has progressed," Larson added. "It may be used offensively to siege a room, defensively when on the move or camping out in a building, and once it's exploded, it provides almost 10 seconds of visible and even physical protection."

What Nerf Is Caustic Getting?

Caustic traps are modified in preparation for Season 12 so that they are no longer invincible when activated. Teams may now shoot and destroy triggered traps, which should aid them in escaping a trap they've already set or prevent a Caustic from bunkering down and easily locking down all of a building's exits with his traps.

Caustic mains shouldn't be too concerned about this nerf, according to Larson, because it's primarily intended to offer opponents a fighting chance by allowing players to respond to an activated trap by spending ammo to destroy it, rather than running away until the trap faded. In internal playtests, however, Respawn judged Caustic's traps to be "very strong" even after the nerf. Furthermore, when a trap is deactivated, the gas it emits lingers in the air for a short time, providing Caustic and his friends with a window of visual cover to prepare for an approaching squad.
